07 Feb The easiest way to increase your email list with a simple 5 Step process
There is speculation about email marketing being dead. I disagree. If you get it right, it will lead to increased engagement, downloads and ultimately sales.
One of the best and easiest ways to grow your email list is to offer your prospects something they cannot refuse. In Marketing, this is called a Lead Magnet. A Lead Magnet is basically a bribe. You are offering something of value to someone in exchange for their details. Your goal should be to use this lead magnet to generate as many leads as possible for your sales team to turn into profits.
Follow these 5 quick and easy steps to generate hundreds of new leads per month.
Step 1 – Create a lead magnet
Before you start designing your lead magnet, think about your ideal target market. For example, if your target market is business owners, create a lead magnet that will help them fix a problem. For example – a cheat sheet on Time Management or a Guide on how to Cold Call. This does not have to be a 100 pages long. Short, sweet and to the point is what people are looking for.
Step 2 – Designing your Lead Magnet
You can create a simple design so that your Lead Magnet stands out from the rest of your competition. People like information, but they also like pretty things. Make sure your Lead Magnet is presentable and branded with your Business Name. When they display your Lead Magnet on their office boards, or take it with them in their binders, yours is the brand others should see.
Step 3 – Landing Page to collect data
Now you have a lead magnet! Next step is to create a landing page for your lead magnet. Your prospects need to land somewhere to put their details in so that they can receive their freebie. You can create a page on your own website for the download (I recommend this if you have a popular lead magnet. This also increases your web visitors). Alternatively, you can use tools like Lead Pages to create your single landing pages.
Ste 4 – Creating your Campaign
If you do not have a CRM system (Customer Relationship Management), I recommend you invest in one. We use Infusionsoft. If you are getting many leads per month or are about to which this awesome step by step process, Infusionsoft is the way to go.
Create your “campaign” in your CRM system. A campaign is your systemised process that will collect details from people who download your lead magnet. You can collect and do nothing, or you can collect and nurture and give yourself notifications to do something with your new leads. This is the best way to be on top of your lead generation.
Step 5 – Promoting your Lead Magnet
Once your Lead Magnet is ready and your SYSTEMS are in place, you are ready to spread the word. There are a few sure-fire ways you can use it to generate leads.
- Social Media – Post on Facebook, promote on LinkedIn and Tweet your Lead Magnet as often as you can.
- Facebook Advertising – use your Facebook Ads account to create an ad to promote your Lead Magnet to the correct target market.
- Joint Ventures – organise email swaps. Connect with other Business Owners who would send out your Lead Magnet and in exchange you can send something out for them to your database. This is the quickest and easiest way to generate leads.
- Add the link in blog posts – once you have your landing page ready, add the link where possible.
- Send an EDM/Email Blast to your existing database.
