Your 7 Step Guide to Business Coaching

Your 7 Step Guide to Business Coaching

Are you thinking about becoming a Business Coach but are not sure where to start.

Here is a quick and easy 7 step guide that you can check out to take your career to the next level.

Step 1 – Do it yourself or join a network

There are a couple of options that you can consider when becoming a business coach. You can do this yourself, create your own programs, work out what marketing strategies work for you and work out the systems you need to keep your clients accountable. You can also choose to join an organisation that has this already set up.

Step 2 – Create your business plan

This step goes for any business. For you as a business coach, it's important for you to work out exactly what you're going to be doing, how you're going to be getting it done and when you're going to be getting it done by. Business plans help you get complete clarity when it comes to your business growth.

Step 3 – Make sure you have capital

Sometimes, when starting a business, it is easy to overlook the funding you need to be successful. You may not need a lot of capital to become a business coach however, you will need some marketing money to generate some leads and you may need to set some money aside to live whilst you are developing your business.

Step 4 – Secure your own coach

In order to become a successful business coach, you need to get a business coach of your own. Make sure you have enough funds to hire a business coach to help you with your journey. Most franchise networks will have someone who will work with you to help you succeed, but if you decide to go into this alone, do your research, meet with coaches and see who best fits.

Step 5 – Have a solid Marketing Plan

I see many coaches start up their business coaching business but have no idea how they are going to generate leads or attract new clients. Create a solid marketing plan. It doesn't matter how amazing you are at coaching people to get results if you don't have any clients. Your marketing plan needs to clearly state exactly who you're going to be targeting, how you're going to find them, what you're going to have to do to make that happen.

Step 6 – Be consistent

As a business coach, you may try a few different things to generate a clientele. You may not succeed with some of these strategies. The important thing to remember is to be consistent. If you find yourself jumping from one thing to another, your marketing will not work. You will not know what works for you. It's really important that if you're going to build a business coaching business that you remain incredibly consistent in the things that you do.

Step 7 – Always improve

It is really important that you spend time each and every day of the week educating yourself and learning. You can read, listen to audios and watch videos on YouTube.  You have to be willing to continually improve if you're going to also continually improve the people that you're working with.
