In today’s digital age, more and more business owners are turning to Webinars as a marketing and lead generation tool. Why? Webinars are effective, cheap to run with low acquisition costs and builds trust, brand and authority.
You can host a webinar from your office, home or on a beach – it doesn’t matter. All you need is a good internet connection. You can reach huge audiences around the world with ease and is a great lead generator for your business.
There are a few things to consider when planning a webinar.
Your Landing/Registration Page – you need a place for people to register for your upcoming webinar. If you are using platforms like ZOOM or GoTo Webinar, then they have links that you can send out to your audience to register. BUT – this is not ideal. Your registration page should be informative, SEO friendly, optimised, something that answers questions on what people are looking to learn from you. It should have enough material on the page to create interest and buzz around your topic.
POP UP Forms on your website – an easy way for people to find out about your webinar is a pop-up form on your website. These are exit pop up forms that appear right when someone is about to leave your page. All they have to do is add in their details and they are registered.
Ask others to promote your webinar – if you have affiliates or trusted partners in your pool of resources, then ask them to promote your webinar to their database and offer to do the same. This way you are reaching new and fresh audiences who may be interested in attending your webinar as well. It is a great exercise in lead generation.
Email signatures – add your webinar link to your email signature for people to register. This proves to be a great way to spread the word on your upcoming webinar.
Blogging – create a buzz around your webinar by publishing blogs on your website that are relevant to the topic. For example, if you are hosting a webinar on Facebook Lead Generation, add a few articles to your library about Social Media and Facebook Marketing. Add the link as a call to action and people will register to find out more about how you can help them with that particular challenge.
Infographics – create infographics for your website and for social media with information on what someone would learn by signing up for your webinar.
Email Blasts – if you have a strong database, create good email copy to send to them and invite them to register. Create a funnel if you are using a CRM system and once someone registers, send them some value-added emails to get them ready for a great webinar.
Eventbrite – a free platform that allows you to add your event and promote it on your social media pages. Always remember to add your event there. If it’s free, make sure you put the registration link. If it is free, and you are worried people will just buy the ticket without registering, make sure you ask for all the details you need (Name, Email etc) so that you can then add them yourself.
Social Media – one of the most powerful platforms is Facebook. Create some attractive images and add your link on your Social Media pages and groups to get people to register.
Facebook LIVE – get people excited by speaking directly to them by way of Facebook LIVE. Remember to the add the registration link in the comments so that people can register.
Traditional events are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Less and fewer people seem to show up to these events and if you want to fill a room with 100’s of people, big marketing dollars need to be spent. Webinars are a good way to get a good number of people to listen to you at a low acquisition cost.
