Have you got what it takes to be a Business Coach?
The Business Coaching industry is booming, however, not everyone has what it takes to become a Business Coach.
Here are 7 signs that could indicate that you are ready to be a Business Coach.
You have Business Experience
The first sign that you should become a business coach is that you’ve got business experience, and that you love the “business” of business. If you’ve enjoyed growing your own business, or you’ve been involved in a business which you have personally helped grow, then you may be ready to become a business coach.
You want Flexibility
The second sign is that you’re looking for more flexibility in your life. Becoming a business coach means that you can work from pretty much anywhere in the world. You can even work from home! If you’re tired of the nine to five corporate lifestyles, or sitting in traffic getting to and from work, becoming a business coach could be the right move for you.
You love helping
Are you the person everyone comes to for help? If you’re the person at the family barbecue that all the business people come to for advice on things like sales or marketing or even business growth, then there’s a good chance that you will make an amazing business coach, and that you should be doing something in the profession of helping other people.
You’ve obviously got the knowledge and the skills, which is why people are coming to you, that’s quite a good sign that you have what it takes to become a business coach.
You love learning new things
It’s important as a business coach that we are gaining new knowledge all the time. This means that you love reading books, going to workshops, listening to podcasts, doing audio training, watching videos etc. If you enjoy learning new things and looking into new areas, whether it be something to do, business related or otherwise, then it’s a sign that you could be a great business coach.
You love working with people
Business coaching is about working one-on-one with business people or business owners, helping them identify their strengths and their weaknesses, not just in their business but in themselves, so you have to love working with people, you have to enjoy the challenge of different personality types, and enjoy the reward of helping somebody get the results.
If you love one-on-one interaction with other people, particularly in business, that’s a great sign that you’d make an awesome business coach.
You inspire others
If people say to you that you are inspiring, or you feel that you can inspire people, then being a business coach could be a great career path for you. Business coaching is all about working with the business owner, not so much with the business. That confuses a few people. Business skills are important, but I think people skills are more important. And people are coming to you, looking for inspiration, they want to be inspired.
People love to be motivated and inspired to do the things that they need to do to get the results they need in their business. So if you’re an inspiring individual and people have told you that in the past, or you just know you’ve got that positive outlook on life and that you’re an inspiring person, then becoming a business coach could be the best step that you make.
You’re looking for change
If you’re stuck in a rut and you’re looking for a change… and you’ve noticed the previous six signs, then I think you’re ready to become a business coach.
A new career path could be exactly what you need to put some spice back into your life. Maybe you’ve been thinking about doing this for some time, but not sure where to start.
If you’re stuck in a rut, and you’re looking for a change then becoming a business coach could be a great next step for you to be able to sit you on a new career path that’s exciting, that’s rewarding, and best of all, it’s very flexible.
