What is a Business?
A business for many people is more of a “busyness”. Constantly in demand, the Business Owner has more to do than the time to do it. They are also under pressure to keep all the pieces moving including all the compliance and reporting.
The Business Owner in many businesses is also the centrepiece. They have built the business around themselves, especially if they started from scratch.
This is because they did everything initially, and then gradually passed things on as the business grew. All this is very normal, but it is not what a business should be.
In this case the owner has a JOB. Yes it is their business but they are working for themselves instead of someone else. So how can that be changed?
By looking at a business from the complete opposite angle. It should not require you to work IN it…just ON it. And that is the basis of how to start to change what you may have today into something much better in the future.

What are the 5 stages?
The Business Exceleration Blueprint is the closest you will come to finding an instruction manual for a business.
It was designed and built by Ben Fewtrell and David Carlin over many years working with businesses.
It contains all the stages a business, and it’s Owner typically go through to achieve a business that works without them.
The 5 stages build on each other. It’s like building a house. You have to secure a Foundation before you start build the frames, and so on until the final steps of paint and colour.
The other key part about the Blueprint is it is your guide for working ON your business. Most people are so busy working IN their business that they don’t get to work on the things that ensures the business is growing and sustainable.
This is also a process that takes time. Initially you will need to find the time to do this. A couple of hours each week will build until you spend most of your time working on the business.
The resources in the Blueprint include:

- Guided pathways in each stage
- Over 250 specific steps to be followed and completed

Once your foundations are set, it’s time to grow your business further and learn how to create predictable cash flow.

The Optimise stage is about automating repetitive tasks and turning your business into a well-oiled profit making machine.
In the Transition stage you will build your leadership and management team, you’ll move from working IN your business to working ON your business.
A successful business will always rely on building a great team, but for you to move away from the day to day operations of your business you will need to build your own leadership team. Your leadership team should comprise of the most talented people you can attract, as they are there to help drive your business.
In Diversify your business no longer relies on you being there, and thus you’re able to focus on new opportunities.
This is where you only work ON the business if you choose. In other words, if you don’t do anything, your business will still perform profitably and predictably.
